Monostable pulled fronts and logarithmic drifts

چکیده
In this work we investigate the issue of logarithmic drifts in position level sets solutions monostable reaction–diffusion equations, with respect to traveling front minimal speed. On one hand, it is a celebrated result Bramson that such drift occurs when reaction KPP (or sublinear) type. other also known phenomenon disappears speed nonlinearly determined. However, some equations fall neither those cases and our aim fill gap. We prove always linearly determined, but surprisingly find factor term may be different from case.

Fluctuating pulled fronts & Pomerons
I give a physical discussion of the influence of particle number fluctuations on the high energy evolution in QCD. I emphasize the event–by–event description and the correspondence with the problem of ‘fluctuating pulled fronts’ in statistical physics. I show that the correlations generated by fluctuations reduce the phase–space for BFKL evolution up to saturation. Because of that, the evolutio...
متن کاملPulled Fronts and the Reproductive Individual
In War and Peace, Leo Tolstoy expressed his opinions about the importance of “great men” in determining the outcome of historical processes. He said that particular individuals are relatively unimportant in comparison to the overall “forces of history”, comprising the actions, ideas, and emotions of the masses of human beings. Amusingly enough, the relative importance of the individual and the ...
متن کاملInside dynamics of pulled and pushed fronts
We investigate the inside structure of one-dimensional reaction-diffusion traveling fronts. The reaction terms are of the monostable, bistable or ignition types. Assuming that the fronts are made of several components with identical diffusion and growth rates, we analyze the spreading properties of each component. In the monostable case, the fronts are classified as pulled or pushed ones, depen...
متن کاملUniversality class of fluctuating pulled fronts.
It has recently been proposed that fluctuating "pulled" fronts propagating into an unstable state should not be in the standard Kardar-Parisi-Zhang (KPZ) universality class for rough interface growth. We introduce an effective field equation for this class of problems, and show on the basis of it that noisy pulled fronts in d+1 bulk dimensions should be in the universality class of the ((d+1)+1...
متن کاملSpeed of pulled fronts with a cutoff.
We study the effect of a small cutoff epsilon on the velocity of a pulled front in one dimension by means of a variational principle. We obtain a lower bound on the speed dependent on the cutoff, for which the two leading order terms correspond to the Brunet-Derrida expression. To do so we cast a known variational principle for the speed of propagation of fronts in different variables which mak...
